Career & JOb Opportunities
Since the start of Cape Cod Toy Library, Inc. as a non-profit organization in 2017, we’ve relied entirely on volunteers for all aspects of the development and staffing of our programs. We’ve been fortunate to have more than 100 volunteers participate both in-person and remotely, including 20+ early childhood educators who’ve helped curate our collection of 1,500+ toys, staffed open hours and facilitated programs. We’ve also benefited from having a part-time Administrative Assistant, thanks to Elder Services Cape & Islands program. To prepare for the opening of our Toy Lending Library program, May 2022, an intern from Boston’s Simmons University Library Science program helped catalog toys and staffed our open hours each Saturday. Thanks to grant funding, we’ve also been able to contract with early childhood educators to offer special programs at the Toy Library in West Barnstable and Outdoor Play Oasis in Hyannis.
Thanks to 2023-2024 grant funding we’ve been able to hire a part-time Toy Librarian and a part-time Child Development-Play Specialist.
The Child Development-Play Specialist position has just opened up for applicants beginning June 2024.
The Child Development-Play Specialist role is to support and expand program offerings including developing collaborative outreach initiatives to support early intervention practitioners, autism specialists, social workers, and the children/families they serve with learning disabilities, intellectual disabilities, and substance use disorders including children challenged with physical, developmental, behavioral, or sensory issues.
